TYCA to You–Politics in the Classroom

Dear TYCA Midwest Members:

Let your voice be heard! Please respond to the survey below about the role politics should (or shouldn’t) play in the composition classroom. The survey has 6 questions and shouldn’t take you much longer than 5 minutes. Your feedback on these questions may be used in the next Midwest Update in the TYCA to You column.

Education is always political – either in the service of maintaining the status quo, or in service of change. Please read Friere; without this very basic understanding that simply must be grasped by 21st century educators, these seem to be questions. However with this basic understanding, the “questions” themselves insult intelligence and in fact align with maintaining the current social structure.
