Andrew is the Membership Coordinator for TYCA Midwest. He is assistant professor of English at William Rainey Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. His research and professional interests include social justice assessment praxis, basic writing pedagogy, queer and feminist pedagogies, and psychodynamic group relations theory. He recently completed his Ph.D. in rhetoric and composition at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where his dissertation research investigated teachers’ and students’ descriptions of “teaching discomfort” in first-year composition courses. When he’s not teaching, Andrew loves arranging popular and jazz music for marching band. He loves the Honk! band movement, in particular, and was a founding member of the Milwaukee Molotov Marchers. Andrew currently lives with his wife Evelyn and daughter Isadora, their cattle dog Reba, and two old cats, Avery and Toby, in suburban Chicago.
